Exceedingly rare and truly outstanding handwritten, autographed quotation of the opening line of her "Battle Hymn of the Republic"-- the haunting tune she claimed had come to her in a dream just after the outbreak of the American Civil War and which became the Union's anthem-- on a 7 x 4.25-inch ivory sheet, dated July 6, 1899. In fine condition, with light wrinkling away from the writing and two light vertical folds, one intersecting the last letter of her signature. Ideal for display.
