Scarce and lovely vintage 8x10-inch matte-finish 8x10, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the 1930s. In good condition, overall, with paper loss to the top left and bottom right corner tips, where tape that had affixed the piece to a scrapbook page was removed. Frieda Inescort, tall, dark, regal leading lady of the 1930s through 1950s, is remembered by horror, sci-fi and fantasy buffs for her roles in The Return of the Vampire (1944), The She-Creature (1956) and The Alligator People (1959). Her work in other genres included Pride and Prejudice (1940), The Letter (1940), Shadows on the Stairs (1941), and A Place in the Sun (1951).
