Cat. #00156612: HENRY IRVING

Rare brown fountain pen signature on a 1.25 x 7-inch portion of a tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in 1863. In good condition. Gaunt, terrifying English stage star Sir Henry Irving-- the first actor to ever be granted knighthood-- worked closely with Bram Stoker, who used Irving as the model for his infamous bloodsucker Dracula. Although, despite pleading by Stoker, Irving never agreed to play the Count on stage, Dracula's dramatic, sweeping gestures and gentlemanly mannerisms drew their living embodiment from Irving.
