Cat. #001566132: ROSALIND IVAN

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Highly scarce vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in fountain pen in 1945. In fairly good condition, overall, with two strips of yellowed tape across the upper and lower borders; the writing a tad light in spots; and one minute tear to the right border. Priced accordingly. Character actress Rosalind Ivan was nicknamed Ivan the Terrible for the effectiveness with which she portrayed haughty, cold-hearted matrons. She was noteworthy in The Garden Murder Case (1936), It Started with Eve (1941), None But the Lonely Heart (1944), The Suspect (1944), The Corn Is Green (1945), the Sherlock Holmes favorite Pursuit to Algiers (1945), the Lon Chaney Jr. horror flick Pillow of Death (1945), Scarlet Street (1945), Johnny Belinda (1946), and The Robe (1953).
