Rare vintage 8x10-inch sepia-tone portrait, in full cowboy attire and wielding a revolver, boldly signed and inscribed in blue felt-tip pen in 1969. In good condition, with a minor crease, resembling a paper clip impression, to the upper area, between the top of his hat and the upper border. Scrawny, pencil-mustachioed character actor I. Stanford Jolley played a mixed bag of rank outlaws and conniving, genteel scoundrels in over 200 B-westerns of 1930s through 1970s. He was also considerably active in the horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres, memorable in A Christmas Carol (1938), S.O.S. Tidal Wave (1939), The Ape (1940), Batman (1943), Crazy Knights (1944), The Crimson Ghost (1946), The Black Widow (1947), Superman (1948), King of the Rocket Men (1949), Captain Video, Master of the Stratosphere (1951), Valley of the Dragons (1961), Atlantis, the Lost Continent (1961), The Haunted Palace (1963), and Night of the Lepus (1972).
