Uncommon vintage 5x7-inch sepia-tone portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in violet fountain pen to inveterate collector Eddy Farmer in the 1940s. In good condition, overall, with a light crease to the area of his left shoulder, nowhere near the writing itself. Friendly-faced Cecil Kellaway was one of Hollywood's most unforgettable character actors, terrific in classic films like Wuthering Heights (1939); Mexican Spitfire (1940); horror's The Invisible Man Returns (1940), The Mummy's Hand (1940), The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953) and Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964); The House of Seven Gables (1940); Bahama Passage (1941); I Married a Witch (1942); Mrs. Parkington (1944); The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946); Joan of Arc (1948); Harvey (1950); and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? (1967). He was also superb in two classic episodes of T.V.'s "The Twilight Zone" (1960, 1963).
