TOUGH to acquire vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait as Ted Baxter on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (1970-1977), shown wearing his news jacket, boldly signed and inscribed in black felt-tip pen in the late 1970s. Om good condition, with mild wear to the right border edge. Best known for his portrayals of inept, pearly-toothed anchorman Ted Baxter on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (1970-1977) and cartoonist Henry Rush on "Too Close for Comfort" (1980-1987), character actor Ted Knight spent the whole of his career playing similar puffed-up, explosive types on the large and small screens.  One of his last roles before his early death of cancer at age 62 was that of Judge Elihu Smalls, the victim of countless barbs by Rodney Dangerfield, in Caddyshack (1980).
