Cat. #0016103: JACK LA RUE

Nifty vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black marker in the 1960s. In good condition. Grim-faced character actor Jack La Rue played merciless hoodlums and unsavory master villains in scores of classic crime and mystery flicks, including the hot-headed hit man in Night World (1932), Ackerman in I Was a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932), Slick in Radio Patrol (1932), Eduardo Grassi in The Kennel Murder Case (1933), the sex-obsessed kidnapper in The Story of Temple Drake (1933), Manolo in Charlie Chan in Panama (1940), and Slim Grissom in the notorious No Orchids for Miss Blandish (1948). He occasionally popped up in more sympathetic roles, playing priests in A Farewell to Arms (1932) and Captains Courageous (1937).
