Ultra-, ultra-rare vintage 8x10-inch sepia-tone portrait as Mother in 1925's silent film Sun-Up, in which she recreated her most celebrated stage role, boldly signed with her name alone in black fountain pen. In good condition for its age, with a minor ink stain to the lower right-hand border. Hag-like character actress Lucille La Verne, whose 40 film roles included the fiendish, pipe-smoking Mother Frochard in both Orphans of the Storm (1921) and A Tale of Two Cities (1935), achieved a sort of immortality when she lent her voice to the Wicked Queen and the Witch in Disney's beloved Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).
