Scarce and marvelous 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen, with warm sentiments, and dated 1942. In fine condition, with scattered very mild handling dings and faint silvering to the darker areas of the image, completely invisible when the photo is viewed head-on. Before her death of cancer at that age of 54, wonderful English and Broadway musical star Gertrude Lawrence, who was a favorite of Noel Coward, made a few forays into film, including Rembrandt (1936) and Men Are Not Gods (1936).
