Rather uncommon and decidedly pretty 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed in black marker in the 1980s. In very good condition. After bits in forgettable silents and early talkies, attractive Rosina Lawrence landed the role of Alice Lowell in Charlie Chan's Secret (1936). However, drama did not prove her strong suit, and she went on to appear in Laurel and Hardy comedies, most notably On the Wrong Trek (1936) and Way Out West (1937). During this same period, she landed her best-known role, that of schoolteacher Miss Lawrence-- later, Miss Jones-- in the Our Gang comedy shorts and features of 1936 through 1937, replacing June Marlowe's Miss Crabtree. In 1939, Lawrence retired to marry and raise a family, emerging from obscurity only in the early 1990s, to sign autographs for fans at film conventions.
