Highly rare vintage fountain pen signature on a roughly 4.5 x 6-inch biography trimmed from a play program, acquired in-person in the 1940s. In good condition. Great silent and early talkie character actor Lucien Littlefield played Dr. Ira Lazar in the early horror classic The Cat and the Canary (1927), and was a terrific foil for Laurel and Hardy in numerous shorts and films, including Sons of the Desert (1933). He was also memorable in Tom Sawyer (1930), Rasputin and the Empress (1932), Man on the Flying Trapeze (1935), Ruggles of Red Gap (1935), L'il Abner (1940), The Little Foxes (1941), and Zorro's Black Whip (1944). This is just the third example of his autograph we have ever encountered and the first signed photograph.
