Cat. #00164162: JACK LEMMON

Uncommonly early 8x10-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Very minor border creasing; otherwise, in very fine condition. Lovable "every man" actor Jack Lemmon won two Oscars, for Mister Roberts (1955) and Save the Tiger (1973), and was nominated a whopping six more times, for Some Like It Hot (1960), The Apartment (1960), Days of Wine and Roses (1962), The China Syndrome (1979), Tribute (1980), and Missing (1982), each one a Hollywood classic. He was elsewhere unforgettable in Bell Book and Candle (1958), Irma La Douce (1963), Under the Yum Yum Tree (1963), How to Murder Your Wife (1965), The Fortune Cookie (1966), The Odd Couple (1968), The April Fools (1969), The Out of Towners (1970), The Prisoner of Second Avenue (1975), Airport '77 (1977), Mass Appeal (1991), JFK (1991), Glengarry Glenn Ross (1992), Grumpy Old Men (1993), Grumpier Old Men (1995), and Tuesdays with Morrie (1999).
