Scarce vintage 5x7-inch black and white portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the 1930s. In good condition for its age. Lovely Margaret Lindsay was notable in films like Jezebel (1938) and Scarlet Street (1945), as well as in the Ellery Queen film series of the early 1940s. Critics regard her portrayal of Nathaniel Hawthorne's Hepzibah Pyncheon in the 1940 film adaptation of The House of the Seven Gables as the best role of her movie career.
