Uncommonly early 3.25 x 5.5-inch black and white postcard portrait, boldly signed in black fountain pen in the 1940s. In good condition, with gentle corner wear. Probably best remembered for his portrayal of Commissioner Charles Dreyfus, Inspector Clouseau's fed-up boss, in the Pink Panther film series, the esteemed character actor made a number of key contributions to the horror and sci-fi genres, with starring roles in Mysterious Island (1961), The Phantom of the Opera (1962), 99 Women (1969), Mark of the Devil (1970), Count Dracula (1970) with Christopher Lee, Dorian Gray (1970), Cuadecuc, Vampir (1971), Murders in the Rue Morgue  Morgue (1971), Asylum (1972), Dark Places (1973), The Dead Zone (1983), Masque of the Red Death (1989), and The Devil's Daughter (1991).
