Cat. #0016614262: DIANA LYNN

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce vintage fountain pen signature on a 1945 first day cover for a stamp commemorating the 50th anniversary of motion pictures, acquired when the actress was just 18 years old.  In good condition for its age, with a hint of toning, and some magazine clippings affixed to the verso by the original collector.  Charming Diana Lynn began her career as a prodigiously talented young pianist, and, after shifting into acting at the age of 13, proved memorable in films like The Major and the Minor (1942), The Miracle of Morgan's Creek (1944), And the Angels Sing (1944), My Friend Irma (1949), and Bedtime for Bonzo (1951).  She died tragically of a stroke at the age of 45 and her autograph is elusive in any format.
