Rare vintage black fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch light green autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1950s by an inveterate autograph hound associated with Boston's Colonial Theater. In good condition and nice for matting with a favorite photograph. Welsh-born character actor Niall MacGinnis played a mixed bag of jovial and villainous types in films like The Crimson Circle (1936), The Strangler (1941), The Avengers (1942), Anna Karenina (1948), Hamlet (1948), Murder in the Cathedral (1951), Martin Luther (1953), Helen of Troy (1956), Alexander the Great (1956), Lust for Life (1956), The Nun's Story (1959), Tarzan's Greatest Adventure (1959), Billy Budd (1962), Jason and the Argonauts (1963), The Man Who Finally Died (1963), The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965), and Torture Garden (1967) before his death of cancer at the age of 63. He is remembered by horror, sci-fi and fantasy roles for his unforgettable performance as evil, rune-passing warlock Dr. Julian Karswell in Night of the Demon (1957), released in the U.S. as Curse of the Demon.
