IMPOSSIBLE to find blue fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch green card, acquired in-person by inveterate autograph hound John Virzi in the 1970s. In good condition. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. This is just the second autograph we have ever encountered of the Northern Irish character actor who played Mr. Alexander-- the writer whose wife is ruthlessly assaulted by the Droogs-- in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange (1971). He was elsewhere noteworthy in a mixed assortment of dramas, and horror and sci-fi flicks, including Dementia 13 (1963), Seance on a Wet Afternoon (1964), The Masque of the Red Death (1964), The Skull (1965), Die, Monster, Die! (1965), Portrait in Terror (1965), Tales from the Crypt (1972), Luther (1974), Barry Lyndon (1975), Chariots of Fire (1971), The Monster Club (1971), The Black Cat (1981), and Blood of Dr. Jekyll (1981). He died at 60, having left behind very few examples of an autograph many a collector has come to want.
