Unique vintage typed letter, dated 1979 on the accompanying transmittal envelope, boldly signed in blue ballpoint pen, with excellent content, in part: "In answer to your inquiry, I have never been totally in awe of anybody on this earth. If I have any accomplishment to point to at all it is the discovery of what I am." In good condition, with two mailing folds. David Manners, handsome, well-spoken leading man of the 1930s, portrayed Jonathan Harker in Dracula (1931), opposite Bela Lugosi; Franklyn Drew in Death Kiss (1932), also with Lugosi; Frank Whemple in The Mummy, with Boris Karloff; Peter Alison in The Black Cat (1934), alongside both Lugosi and Karloff; and the nephew of a crazed opium addict in Mystery of Edwin Drood (1935), with Claude Rains.
