Scarce vintage inscribed fountain pen signature on a 3.25 x 6.5-inch pale pink autograph album page, acquired in-person in 1942. In good condition for its age, with negligible soiling in spots. Theater and screen actress Enid Markey played innocent young things in heaps of silent dramas and comedies, including The Spirit of the Bell (1915) and Civilization (1916). Her best known role came in 1918, when she was cast as the very first Jane in Adventures of Tarzan, reprised in The Romance of Tarzan later that year. Shortly thereafter, she abandoned Hollywood to concentrate on stage work, returning sporadically to appear in The Naked City (1948), Barney Fife's landlady Mrs. Mendelbright on T.V.'s "The Andy Griffith Show" (1963) and Edna in The Boston Strangler (1968).
