Scarce vintage 3.5 x 5.5-inch black and white postcard portrait of the Italian composer whose 1890 opera "Cavelleria Rusticana" singlehandedly ushered in the Verismo period, boldly signed in black fountain pen in Vienna on January 5, 1925-- the day after he conducted the premier of the German-language version of his opera "Si" at Vienna's Burgertheater. In fine condition for its age, with minute chips to the upper corner tips and a light crease to the lower right-hand area.
