Scarce and uncommonly early 8x10-inch black and white portrait of the madcap comic actor, shown with his trademark cigar adangle, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen with his first name only, as was his custom, in the 1940s: "To friend Paul / You made / me what I am / I hope your [sic] satisfied / Best wishes / Groucho." In good condition, with a minor tear to the right side and glued to a piece of cardboard of the same size, for framing purposes.
