Scarce vintage signature in blue ballpoint pen on a 4x6-inch off-white card, dating to his later years. In good condition and nice for matting with a favorite photograph. Cowboy actor and stuntman Kermit Maynard was the brother of Ken Maynard, with nearly 300 behind-the-scenes, character or leading roles in westerns during Hollywood's silent era and Golden Age. When featured in supporting parts, he was more often than not cast as villainous outlaws. His long list of credits in other genres includes The Three Musketeers (1933), Saboteur (1942), Road to Morocco (1942), Mighty Joe Young (1949), It Came from Outer Space (1953), and Birdman of Alcatraz (1962).
