Ultra-rare-- indeed, the third we have encountered in over 35 years-- vintage signature in blue ballpoint pen on a 4x6-inch tan album page, given above an inscribed signature of actor James Brown, acquired in-person in the 1950s. In good condition. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. Great black character actor Sam "Deacon" McDaniel, who was the brother of Hattie McDaniel, began his career as a jazz musician, eventually turning to supporting roles in film. He made over 200 appearances as servants, waiters, porters, bartenders, chauffeurs, garage operators, and janitors in films like Grand Hotel (1932), Charlie Chan's Courage (1934), The Dragon Murder Case (1934), The Lemon Drop Kid (1934), Kid Millions (1934), The Gorgeous Hussy (1936), Captains Courageous (1937), Jezebel (1938), The Great Lie (1941), In This Our Life (1942), I Was Framed (1942), All Through the Night (1942), Son of Dracula (1943), The Ghost and the Guest (1943), Double Indemnity (1944), The Adventures of Mark Twain (1944), The Very Thought of You (1945), Dillinger (1945), and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1947)He also appeared in five Three Stooges flicks from 1934 through 1948.
