Cat. #00167317: FRANK MCHUGH

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Rather uncommon vintage pencil signature on a 4x5-inch pale green autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1940s and decorated with a small magazine image.  In good condition for its age, with gentle edge wear.  The brother of actors Matt and Kitty McHugh, character actor Frank McHugh was typically cast as sidekicks with nervous energies and hangdog looks, which lent comic relief in tense dramas and crime flicks.  Known for the horror gem Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933), Return of the Terror (1934), Valley of the Giants (1938), 'Til We Meet Again (1940), Going My Way (1944), State Fair (1945), The Velvet Touch (1948), and fantasy's Mighty Joe Young (1949), he was also the most frequent co-star of James Cagney, with whom he appeared in 11 memorable pictures.
