Cat. #001673171211: ROBERT MCKIM

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Rare vintage green fountain pen signature on a 3.5 x 6-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1920s. In good condition, with a small stain to the bottom left-hand corner, well away from the writing. Silent movie queen Alice Terry has signed on the verso, with no inscription. Great silent movie bad guy Robert "Bob" McKim is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of Douglas Fairbanks' arch nemesis in The Mark of Zorro (1920) and was noteworthy, opposite Lon Chaney, in All the Brothers Were Valiant (1923). In 1927, while filming the villain role in Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island with Lionel Barrymore, he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and died, aged only 40 years.
