Highly rare vintage handwritten, signed note in black fountain pen on a 3.5 x 5.25-card, sent to fellow actor Bert Roach in 1929, featuring an image of the star as an explorer, introducing himself to African headhunters. In good condition for its age. Among his his nearly 200 classic film credits, bald, menacing Danish character actor Torben Meyer had small, but memorable roles in a number of horror classics, including The Man Who Laughs (1928), Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), The Black Room (1935), Mark of the Vampire (1935), Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943), and The Fly (1958). His credits in other genres included Roberta (1935), A Tale of Two Cities (1935), King of Burlesque (1936), Sullivan's Travels (1941), Casablanca (1942), The Palm Beach Story (1943), and Judgment at Nuremberg (1961).
