RARE vintage black fountain pen signature on a roughly 2x5-inch portion of a mustard yellow album page, acquired in-person in the late 1920s. In good condition, with some gentle brushing to the ink in spots. This is just the third example we have ever offered of the autograph of charming Marilyn Miller, who was one of the most popular Broadway musical stars of the 1920s and early 1930s. A gifted actress, singer and tap dancer, who excelled at playing rags-to-riches types, her personal life was marred by disappointment, tragedy and frequent illness. In 1936, she died unexpectedly while undergoing a nasal surgery, aged only 37 years.
