Rare vintage fountain pen signature on a 4x5-inch tan autograph album page, acquired in-person in the 1940s and decorated with two magazine images. In good condition, overall, with some light glue stains around the larger clipping, a small handwritten notation in the upper left-hand corner, and a few ink stains to the upper edge. This is just the fourth example we have ever encountered. Before his early death of cancer at the age of 50, familiar-faced character actor Millard Mitchell played cranky authority figures in films like Grand Central Murder (1942), Slightly Dangerous (1943), Kiss of Death (1947), A Double Life (1947), A Foreign Affair (1948), Twelve O'Clock High (1949), and The Gunfighter (1950), but never more memorably than movie mogul R.F. Simpson in Singin' in the Rain (1952).
