Highly rare and just superb vintage 8x10-inch sepia-tone portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the early 1930s. In fine condition, with minor edge wear. Best remembered for the title role-- and many other bit parts!-- in the fantasy classic The Wizard of Oz (1939), jovial veteran character actor Frank Morgan was also memorable in The Affairs of Cellini (1934), The Mighty Barnum (1934), The Great Ziegfeld (1936), Beg, Borrow or Steal (1937), The Shop Around the Corner (1940), The Ghost Comes Home (1940), The Mortal Storm (1940), The Wild Man of Borneo (1941), White Cargo (1942), The Human Comedy (1943), The White Cliffs of Dover (1944), Kismet (1944), Green Dolphin Street (1947), and The Three Musketeers (1948) before his death of a heart attack at the age of 59.
