Cat. #00174011: FRANK MORGAN

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Highly rare and one-of-a-kind vintage 7x9-inch matte-finish black and white studio portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen to child actor Scotty Beckett, a token of gratitude following their work together in Listen, Darling (1938)-- given in the year Morgan was filming The Wizard of Oz (1939). They would go on to costar in The Vanishing Virginian (1942). In fine condition, with trimmed borders. Best remembered for the title role-- and many other bit parts!-- in the fantasy classic The Wizard of Oz (1939), jovial veteran character actor Frank Morgan was also memorable in The Affairs of Cellini (1934), The Mighty Barnum (1934), The Great Ziegfeld (1936), Beg, Borrow or Steal (1937), The Shop Around the Corner (1940), The Ghost Comes Home (1940), The Mortal Storm (1940), The Wild Man of Borneo (1941), White Cargo (1942), The Human Comedy (1943), The White Cliffs of Dover (1944), Kismet (1944), Green Dolphin Street (1947), and The Three Musketeers (1948) before his death of a heart attack at the age of 59.
