Rare vintage 8x10-inch sepia-tone portrait, signed in black fountain pen in the late 1920s. In good condition for its age, with gentle edgewear and the writing a little lighter at the start and end of the autograph. Wildly popular torch singer Helen Morgan created the role of Julie in the first and second Broadway productions of "Show Boat" (1927, 1932), which she later reprised in the acclaimed film version of 1936. She died of cirrhosis of the liver at age 41 and her autograph is rather elusive in any format.
