Cat. #00175121: RALPH MORGAN

Uncommon vintage 8x10-inch glossy silver-tone three-quarter length publicity portrait for Strange Interlude (1932), boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen.  In fine condition, with light bends to the four corner tips, faint soiling in the bottom border and a bit of light surface warping in the background due to a studio snipe affixed to the reverse side.  Typically cast as smooth-talking villains, the decidedly darker-spirited brother of Wizard of Oz star Frank Morgan is revered by horror buffs for his performances in Condemned to Live (1935), The Mad Doctor (1941), Night Monster (1942), Weird Woman (1944), The Monster Maker (1944), The Monster and the Ape (1945), and The Creeper (1948).  He was also memorable in Charlie Chan's Chance (1932), which starred Warner Oland as the titular gumshoe.
