Uncommon vintage 8x10-inch sepia-tone portrait, shown wearing a mourning band, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in the early 1930s. In good condition, with gentle corner wear and a few minor handling dings. Typically cast as smooth-talking villains, Ralph Morgan was the decidedly darker-spirited brother of Wizard of Oz star Frank Morgan. He is revered by horror buffs for his performances in Condemned to Live (1935), The Mad Doctor (1941), Night Monster (1942), Weird Woman (1944), The Monster Maker (1944), The Monster and the Ape (1945), and The Creeper (1948), and was also memorable in Charlie Chan's Chance (1932), which starred Warner Oland as the titular gumshoe.
