Cat. #001782: BURT MUSTIN

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Extremely rare vintage inscribed signature, adding his birthday, on a 3x5-inch lined off-white card, acquired in-person in the 1970s by an inveterate New York City-based autograph hound. In very good condition. Note that the image of the actor shown here is provided for illustration purposes only and is not included with the item. After Burt Mustin retired from a long career as a salesman at age 65, he decided to try his hand at acting, and would spend the next 27 years of his life playing stooped-over, quivering, but sharp as a tack elderly persons-- sometimes dancing with remarkable agility-- in nearly 200 films and television episodes. Memorable credits include She Couldn't Say No (1954), The Return of Jack Slade (1955), several episodes of "The Twilight Zone" (1960-1962), the role of Gus the fireman on "Leave It to Beaver" (1957-1962), the part of Jud Fletcher on "The Andy Griffith Show" (1960-1966), The Killers (1963), The Thrill of It All (1964), Sex and the Single Girl (1964), Cat Ballou (1965), The Cincinnati Kid (1965), The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966), bit parts on "Bewitched" (1966-1971), Mame (1974), numerous roles on All in the Family (1971-1976), and the part of Arthur Lanson on "Phyllis" (1976) just before his death at age 92. This is just the second example of his autograph we have ever offered.
