Vintage 8x10-inch black and white portrait as General Steele on T.V.'s "Don't Call Me Charlie" (1962-1963), boldly signed and inscribed in blue felt-tip pen in the 1960s. In good condition, with minor edgewear. Best known for his portrayal of Alfred the butler on T.V.'s "Batman" (1966-1968), veteran character actor Alan Napier made a considerable number of contributions to the horror and sci-fi genres, with supporting roles in The Invisible Man Returns (1940), Cat People (1942), The Uninvited (1944), Ministry of Fear (1944), Hangover Square (1945), Isle of the Dead (1945), House of Horrors (1946), Macbeth (1947), Master Minds (1949), The Strange Door (1951) with Boris Karloff, The Mole People (1956), Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959), The Premature Burial (1962), and the "Passage on the Lady Anne" episode of "The Twilight Zone" (1963).
