Cat. #001961: TOM NEAL

Sorry, this item has already been sold.

Scarce vintage 8x10-inch matte-finish silver-tone publicity portrait, signed and inscribed in purple fountain pen.  In fine condition, with small bends to three corner tips and a touch of waviness along a small portion of the right border.  The tough-as-nails B-movie lead of the 1940s, at his best in films like Detour (1945), was also known for his off-screen antics, which included a conviction of manslaughter for killing his third wife.  Among horror buffs, he is known for his starring roles as Frankie Mills in the Bela Lugosi classic Bowery at Midnight (1942) and Clifford Scott in The Brute Man (1946), opposite Rondo Hatton.
