Extremely rare 8x10-inch black and white publicity portrait for Fortunes of War (1994), boldly signed in black fountain pen in 1994. In very good condition. Alongside Harold Russell, the imprisoned and tortured Cambodian physician Dr. Haing S. Ngor was one of the only two nonprofessionals to win an Academy Award, for his unforgettable performance as photographer Dith Pran in The Killing Fields (1984). After a few more appearances in films like Eastern Condors (1987), My Life (1993) and Heaven and Earth (1993), he was brutally murdered outside of his Los Angeles home by a gang in search of drug money, aged only 55.
