Scarce vintage 8x10-inch black and white bust portrait, dating to the 1930s, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen.  In very good condition for its age.  Although the familiar-faced veteran character actor appeared in over 70 Hollywood classics, he is best remembered for his work in B-level horror, sci-fi, fantasy,crime, western, and adventure flicks of the 1930s and 1940s.  His endless list of credits includes roles in Karl Freund's Mad Love (1935), The Gorilla (1939) with Bela Lugosi, Man with Two Lives (1942), I Live on Danger (1942), The Great Impersonation (1942), A Close Call for Ellery Queen (1942), Mystery of Marie Roget (1942), No Place for a Lady (1943), End of the Road (1944), Shadows in the Night (1944), Jungle Queen (1945), Decoy (1946), The Truth About Murder (1946), Murder in the Music Hall (1946), Trapped by Boston Blackie (1948), The Mysterious Desperado (1949), Highway 301 (1950), Killer Shark (1950), I Was a Communist for the FBI (1951), and Murder without Tears (1953).
