Rare black fountain pen signature-- rendered with her foot and I bet a helluva lot nicer than YOUR penmanship!-- on the verso of a 3.5 x 5.25-inch black and white pitch card, given in-person to a side show or circus patron, circa 1942. In good condition for its age, with negligible soiling on the blank side of the card, surrounding the first few letters of the autograph, but not too bad. Dubbed the Living Venus de Milo, armless sideshow performer Frances O'Connor ate, drank and smoked with her toes, some of which was captured on film by Tod Browning in his famed horror flick Freaks (1932). It was her only movie role. Her autograph is extremely uncommon in any format.
