Sultry vintage 8x10-inch black and white matte-finish portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in black fine-tip pen in the 1940s or 1950s. In very fine condition and ideal for display. Gorgeous scene-stealer Janis Paige began her career in bland ingénue parts, as in Of Human Bondage (1946), This Side of the Law (1950) and Fugitive Lady (1950), but had too much vim and personality for such forgettable roles. After proving herself in the 1954 Broadway hit "The Pajama Game", opposite John Raitt, she went on to stronger work in films like Silk Stockings (1957) and Please Don't Eat the Daisies (1960). The latter paired her with Doris Day, to whom she was most often compared.
