Ultra-rare signature in black fountain pen on an off-white slip pf paper, probably a trimmed-down album page, measuring 3-1/8 x 1-7/8 inches. In fine condition, with mounting remnants on the verso, and ideal for matting with a favorite photograph. The legendary saxophonist, who pioneered the bebop style of jazz, died of pneumonia and a bleeding ulcer in 1955, possibly related to his long-time heroin addiction. He was only 35. This is the first authentic example of his autograph we've ever offered.
