Highly rare vintage black fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch tan album page, acquired in-person in 1947, as noted in the hand of the original collector beneath the autograph. In good condition, with a few light indentations from writing on the preceding page in the album. Eccentric, autograph-shunning director Joseph Pevney is remembered for The Strange Door (1951), Flesh and Fury (1952), the Lon Chaney biopic Man of a Thousand Faces (1957), Tammy and the Bachelor (1957), Twilight of the Gods (1958), Torpedo Run (1958), and Portrait of a Mobster (1961). In the late 1950s, he began focusing more on television work, directing numerous classic episodes of "Wagon Train" (1959-1965), "The Munsters" 1964-1966), "Star Trek" (1967-1968), and "Bonanza" (1968-1972).
