Uncommonly early 8x10-inch sepia-tone portrait, boldly signed and inscribed in blue fountain pen in the 1920s, in her horror movie heyday. In good condition. Best remembered as Christine Daae, menaced by Lon Chaney, Sr. in the silent horror classic The Phantom of the Opera (1925), lovely silent leading lady Mary Philbin also starred in another silent thriller, playing Dee in The Man Who Laughs (1928), opposite a disfigured Conrad Veidt.
