Quite scarce vintage 3.5 x 5.5-inch double-weight deckle-edge glossy postcard portrait by Harcourt, signed in blue fountain pen in the 1940s. In good condition, with gentle edge wear. Handsome French film and stage actor Gerard Philipe was a popular star of the post-war period. He died of liver cancer, aged only 36 years, and has, over time, become one of the icons of French classic cinema.
