Rare vintage blue fountain pen signature on a 4x6-inch yellowautograph album page, acquired in-person in 1939, when she was 19 years old, following an appearance at New York's Loew's Theater. In good condition for its age and nice for matting with a favorite photograph. June Preisser, acrobat and contortionist-turned-dimpled blonde cream puff of the silver screen, is remembered as Judy Garland's competition for the affections of Mickey Rooney in a string of MGM "let's-put-on-a-show" musicals like Babes in Arms (1939) and Strike Up the Band (1940). The trio was reteamed for a handful of Andy Rooney films 1939 through 1941. After a series of utterly forgettable teen features, Preisser abandoned Hollywood in her twenties to found a dancing school. In 1984, she was tragically killed in a car accident, aged only 64. Her autograph is rather elusive in any format.
