Exceedingly rare vintage black fountain pen signature on the upper half of a 4x6-inch light green album page, above an inscribed ink autograph pf actress Irene Rich, acquired in-person at the Coconut Grove in Hollywood in 1940. In good condition and easily trimmed away from the Rich. Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the signed piece is not included. Creepy-looking character actor Lucien Prival parlayed his vocal and physical resemblance to Erich von Stroheim into excellent portrayals of Teutonic menaces in films like Hell's Angels (1930), Sherlock Holmes (1932), Return of Chandu (1934), Mr. Wong, Detective (1938), and The Great Dictator (1940). Horror, sci-fi and fantasy fans further remember him as the ill-tempered butler in James Whale's the Bride of Frankenstein (1935). This is the third autograph and second signed photo we have encountered in 30 years.
