Cat. #002991421: ALEX RAYMOND

Ultra-rare vintage inscribed black fountain pen signature on a roughly 3x5-inch tan card, sent to a fan in the 1940s. In good condition, with a rust stain and impression at the top, left by a paperclip that had once attached the autograph to a letter. Brilliant cartoonist Alex Raymond, who created the legendary comic strips "Flash Gordon," "Jungle Jim" and "Secret Agent X-9," died tragically at age 46, when a car he was driving collided with a tree due to inclement weather. This is just the third example of his signature we have encountered in over 35 years.
