Cat. #0030022211: GEORGE REEVES

Exceptionally rare vintage black fountain pen signature on a roughly 2x4-inch portion of a tan autograph album page, with irregular trimming, acquired in-person in the early 1940s; accompanied by a similarly trimmed signature of Reeves' wife, Ellanora Needles and an original candid snapshot of her. Some glue stains showing through to the fronts of both pieces; otherwise, in fine condition for their ages. Hunky, authoritative George Reeves made his screen debut in the opening scene of Gone with the Wind (1939) and went on to gain immortality as the titular Man of Steel on T.V.'s "Superman" (1952-1958). At age 45, he was fatally shot under mysterious circumstances-- possibly suicide, possibly murder-- and his autograph, which is highly sought by collectors, is extremely difficult to find in genuine form. Forgeries, unfortunately, abound-- but this one is the real deal.
