Very scarce vintage 6x8-inch black and white publicity still from an unidentified film, boldly signed and inscribed in black fountain pen in-person for inveterate collector Pierre Goulliard in 1955. In good condition. Busy French character actor Alexandre Rignault, who appeared in both European and American films, is probably best remembered by English-speaking audiences for his portrayal of the befuddled Inspector Parot in Georges Franju's horror classic Eyes without a Face (1960). He is the rarest cast member autograph, in our experience, as this is just the second example we have encountered in 30 years. He was elsewhere memorable in La Chienne (1931), Liliom (1934), Rasputin (1938), The Count of Monte Cristo (1945), Fantomas (1947), and The Return of Don Camillo (1953).
