Scarce vintage autograph in red ballpoint pen on a 3x5-inch lined tan card, probably dating to the 1970s. In good condition. Fiery, Welsh-born beauty Rachel Roberts was mesmerizing as Brenda in Karel Reisz's Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960) and as the suffering Mrs. Hammond in Lindsey Anderson's This Sporting Life (1963), which earned her an Oscar nomination. A master of villainous authority figure roles, she went on to wonderful work in films like This Sporting Life (1963), O Lucky Man! (1973), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975), and Foul Play (1978). Alas, Roberts was inclined towards impulsive, insecure and self-destructive tendencies in private life, and tragically committed suicide by barbiturate overdose at the age of 53.
