Extremely rare vintage pencil signature-- not as Marie Blake, but using the name with which she was credited on "The Addams Family" (1964-1966)!-- given on a 3x5-inch off-white card to the sister of Famous Monsters of Filmland obituary columnist and film book author Harris Lentz in the late 1970s. In good condition, beyond the shaky hand of her later years, and suitable for matting with a favorite photograph. The first we have encountered in many years! Note that the image of the star shown here alongside the scan of the autograph is not included. Movie character actress Marie Blake, who was the older sister of Jeannette MacDonald, gained fame in the role of Sally in the Dr. Kildare film series of the 1930s and 1940s. In her later years, she found new work on television, briefly using the name Blossom Rock while playing cackling, white-haired, mad-eyed Grandmama Addams on "The Addams Family" (1964-1966).
